    sport Hospitality

    Faculty members from the College of Human Environmental Sciences (CHES) have developed a 30 hours graduate level emphasis in Sports Hospitality at The University of Alabama. The CHES Sport Hospitality area of study prepares students for employment and careers in the sport, hospitality and entertainment operation settings.

    REQUIRED COURSES (27 credit hours)

    HES 509 Research Methods (3)

    HES 551 Seminar: Facilities and Event Management in Sport Management (3)

    HES 554 Management & Administration in Sport Management (3)

    HES 561 Marketing, Sales and Public Relations in Sport Management (3)

    HES 563 Finance and Accounting in Sport Management (3)

    HES 565 Law and Ethics in Sport Management (3)

    HES 570 Fellowship in Sport Management (3) or HES 592 Special Problems in Sport Management (3) – Athletics, Hospitality & Entertainment; United States Olympic Committee

    Select two or more: HES 560 Sport Management (3), HES 559 Management Strategies (3), HES 552 Trends and Issues – International Sport Programs (3)

    ELECTIVES (3 credit hours)

    Sport Industry Electives: HES 570 or HES 592

    Related Electives: CSM 575, *CSM 525, or Other, as approved by CHES Sport Management Director.

    *Additional 12 credit hours (total 15 hours) leads to “Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management, Negotiation, and Mediation”. Other required courses to receive Certificate: CSM 527 Consumer Mediation, Negotiation and Management—Advanced I; CSM 528 Consumer Conflict Mediation, Management, & Negotiation/ Workplace Law; CSM 559 Techniques of Consumer Counseling; CSM 586 Consumer Human Capital Management
